A unique opportunity to experience how people lived in Saaremaa in old times. We offer a cottage, or rather an outhouse, with one room and old-fashioned furniture (in good condition). The house is situated in the south coast of Saaremaa near a protected bay. It is just far enough from the sea to avoid the breezes and close enough for a stroll down to the beach (~1000 meters). The surroundings are very beautiful.
Modern comforts would only spoil the impression of the house but for preparing food and having your meal there is an outdoor kitchen in a separate building, see pictures. This outdoor kitchen is shared with the other two huts on this property A privy is conveniently located close to the house. In the house you find two rooms, each with two beds, a table with two stools, hooks for your clothes and a chest. Please observe that in cold weather you may need sleeping bags as there is no heating in the house. There is no electricity in the cottage, but near the house is an outlet you can use, for instance for charging your phone.
A new, detached sauna building will be ready spring 2009. Heating this sauna and filling the wooden hot tub for you is at additional fee of 750 EEK (50 EUR)
By the beach you find secluded picnic-tables and a volleyball-field. The beach is however rather private and never crowded because it is not very easy to find. There is a boat you may rent and there is lots of fish in the bay.
The house can be rented for any time period also in peak season, why not try this place 2 nights in connection to your stay on the mainland?
NB! For each stay here a fee of 10 EUR for cleaning and electricity will be added.
