VIRTAAN KARTANO

An attractive log cabin completed in 2015, with electricity, on the banks of the Tainionvirta river, in the peaceful surroundings of the beautifully restored Virtaankoski rapids. High-quality interior. Beautiful river landscape, and a large terrace area.

Several swimming places, sandy beach has been restored to fit small children and in other place in front of the swimming pier there is 2 m deep water. The river flows peacefully.
During the summer, Virtaa has a summer café, which is a 200-meter walk away.


The yard is partly crushed stone, rocks and sand, at the back of the cottage there is field landscape.

Ideal for example for one or two peace-loving couples, families with children, fishermen and kayakers.

The actual sleeping places for two is in the sleeping hut, along outdoor terraces 5 m. Living room-kitchen with sofa bed, which can be spread if necessary (140 cm x 200 cm). To sleeping loft steep stairs. On the loft 2 extra beds. A travel cot and high chair are brought in on request.

A well-equipped kitchen with drainage. Kitchen utensils min. for 8 people. Owner brings 10 l canister of drinking water at the beginning of your stay, then the customer is required to fetch the drinking water himself from a grocery store (within 6 km). For other use in summer time water (cold river water) comes via electric pump from the river to the terrace, in winter time washing water has to be fetched from the river.

The cottage has its own island of 100 m²! In the island there is campfire site and a fishing pier. *** NOTE! Fishing is not allowed during September-November.***

The same owner has also cottages 11334 and 11332. Catering available by separate agreement (owner has a holiday farm, which is suitable for arranging small parties by separate agreement/payment).

Tennis Court, distance 200 m (bookings through the owner, owner instructs in the use). Owner rents bicycles and two sup-boards.

Fishing opportunities are excellent: the recently restored Virtaankoski rapids are just 100 meters away, and the entire Tainionvirta river area is a fantastic fishing spot. Tainionvirta is Finland's southernmost salmon river!

Hunting opportunities by separate agreement. The hunting area consists of land owned by the cottage owner, where small game may only be hunted with the landowner's express permission. Maps of the area are available from the landowner. Hunting guide available.

Sysmä 6 km, National park Päijätsalo 20 km, Pulkkilanharju Ridge 20 km, Hartola golf 25 km, the channel of Vääksy 35 km, Kammiovuori 30 km, Purnuvuori 40 km, Messilä 60 km, Lahti 60 km, Sysmän Suvisoitto (Sysmä Summer Sounds event) in July.
