410 km north of Rovaniemi, 75 km west from Inari. Old Siuttavaara log cabin is located by Inarijoki river bank (15 m). Inarijoki is the border river between Finland and Norway. Charming courtyard area, deep shore, water level varies, river width in this point 35 m, no boat. Main room has 2 bunk beds, the width of lower parts 160 cm, upper parts 80 cm. Cabin heating with wood-burning stove, lighting with solar lights and candles. Drinking water must be fetched from river or brought along. We recommend boiling of river water before use. Separate log sauna with steam room and dressing room. Wood burning stove and water heater tank. Water must be fetched from the river (15 m). Outdoor fireplace.

WILDERNESS CABIN: Facilities in wilderness cabins are often more modest than in holiday cottages. Cabin is not preheated before customer’s arrival. Cabin should be cleaned by the customer during the holiday and after that. Due to long distances maintenance doesn’t check the cabin after all customers. If the cabin is not cleaned or there are deficiencies, please contact the caretaker immediately on arrival by calling. Please, remember to bring your own bed linen and towels (can not be rented). This cabin requires outdoor attitude and skills (how to make fire, for example). If you’re not sure, please consider another option. Water is not examined yearly so boiling the drinking water before use is recommended. In summer car parking in yard, in winter 150 m away. No plug for car heating. The Inari River is the top branch of the Teno River, where salmon can also be caught. Nearest fishing site Inarijoki 15 m. Nearest excellent salmon fishing spot is Matinköngäs approx. 5 km towards Karigasniemi (turn left at sign Matinköngäs, drive approx. 500 m along the forest road). Information about fishing licenses, fishing times and permit conditions can be found at Teno river fishing license online shop: www.tenonkalaluvat.fi (also in english). Lemmenjoki National Park 35 km (by car), Wilderness area of Muotkatunturi about 5 km (hiking). Hunting: Small game in State lands (grouse, waterfowl, small predators and hare), hunting area 1609 Angeli, www.eraluvat.fi. Distances: nearest village Angeli 13 km. Nearest grocery, gas station and restaurant in Karigasniemi 50 km.
