Log cabin by clear watered lake Suuri-Valkea alias Valkea Mäntyjärvi (distance 25 m) on the Northern side of Patvinsuo National Park. Cabin with 2 bunk beds, wood stove heating, gas stove, gas powered refrigerator, site for an open fire, rowing boat and life jackets, water well. Wintertime: the well is frozen, bring water or take water from the lake. Good beach for swimming, suitable for families with children as well.

WILDERNESS CABIN: Facilities in wilderness cabins are often more modest than in holiday cottages. Cabin is not preheated before customer’s arrival. Cabin should be cleaned by the customer during the holiday and after that. Due to long distances maintenance doesn’t check the cabin after all customers. If the cabin is not cleaned or there are deficiencies, please contact the caretaker immediately on arrival by calling. Please, remember to bring your own bed linen and towels (can not be rented). This cabin requires outdoor attitude and skills (how to make fire, for example). If you’re not sure, please consider another option. Water is not examined yearly so boiling the drinking water before use is recommended. Stock of fish in Suuri Valkea: pike, perch, roach, burbot and even whitefish. The fisheries management fee is required if you are 18-64 years of age and will be fishing with lures or traps or crayfishing. When fishing with multiple rods, traps and crayfishing on state-owned waters, you will always require both the fisheries management fee and a separate fishing permit from Metsähallitus. Angling with 1 rod and ice–fishing are free of charge. For lure fishing license area No 7413 Etelä-Suomen vapalupa (www.eraluvat.fi). For net and trap fishing license area 7003 Lieksa (www.eraluvat.fi). Small game hunting area: 7642 Kuora-Kontiovaara-Uimaharjua (www.eraluvat.fi). Saunassa mukavan pehmeät löylyt. Kiukaan vesitilan vesi ei helpolla lämpiä.

Mökki oli kuvauksen mukainen erämökki keskellä metsää. Siellä pystyi hyvin rentoutumaan ja nauttimaan saunan lämmöstä keväisen talvisessa kelissä. Hieno paikka, jonne varmasta menen uudestaan.
