330 km northwest from Rovaniemi, 88 km north from Muonio, in village Karesuvanto in Enontekiö. River Muonionjoki 100 m, deep, natural state shore, width of the river 250 m, Sweden on the opposite shore of the river. River Muonionjoki joins to river Tornionjoki and it is a salmon river. Rowing boat and 2 life jackets available (please, for safety reasons agree with the owner before use).
Log cottage built in 2017, inside is paneled. Combined kitchen-living room with 2 single beds (placed side by side), electric sauna, toilet and shower corner, covered porch. A mattress can be used as an extra bed on the floor. Mini kitchen with two hotplates, no oven. Storage place under the seats. Metallic fire place. Darkening blinds on the windows.
Small terrace with a table and chairs. A small metallic outdoor fire pit and a ball bbc grill.
Water in the tap comes from own well and contains some iron, which might cause occasionally some smell/taste into water. However, it's examined and safe to use. Client can bring drinking water along.
Power line passes front of the cottage. Cottage is located near services of Karesuvanto village and Sweden Karesuando village. Small grocery shop, restaurant and fuel sales in Karesuvanto. Neste Karesuvanto (distance approx. 950 m) also has an electric car charging point. Border crossing to Sweden 1,5 km, Sweden Karesuando shops, restaurant and services 2-3 km.
Two pairs of snowshoes available. Guide services for fishing trips from the owner.
Fishing license area 2502 Tornionjoki-Muonionjoki-Könkämäeno (www.eraluvat.fi) and 1550 Lätäseno 12 km (www.eraluvat.fi).
Small game hunting license area (fowls: only willow grouse): 1614 Hetta-Karesuvanto, 1615 Näkkälä and 1613 Käsivarsi (www.eraluvat.fi). Kilpisjärvi 108 km.
There is a Ketola reindeer farm in Karesuvanto https://www.ketolareindeer.com/ reindeer farm visits are possible in the spring season by separate arrangement (direct connection to the reindeer farm)
Cottage can be reached by car all year round.
