Rihun Riihi is a completely different and idyllic accommodation option. Originally built in the early 1900s, this old drying barn was converted in 1999 into a spacious and unique cabin. Modern comforts of the 2020s have been added without forgetting the traditional spirit of the barn. The construction technique has favored old building forms, from moss insulation to birch bark and self-peeled surface boards. The aim has been to create a natural, peaceful summer place for those who value nature and tranquility. Note that the doorways are lower than usual, and one must bend slightly when passing through. The cabin includes a spacious bedroom with a double bed and a heat-storing fireplace, another bedroom with two beds, a separate WC with a shower, and a high-quality incinerating toilet. The living room features a smart TV, a sofa that can be converted into an extra bed for one person (120 x 190 cm), a heat-storing fireplace, and a dining area. The kitchenette is equipped with a single induction cooktop, a microwave, a refrigerator, and a freezer. There is also a folding extra bed with a thick mattress. Water for the cabin comes from its own well. Drinking water must be brought to the cabin by the guests. There is a water collection point on the outer wall of Heinola ABC station (distance 23 km). By the shore, there is a lakeside sauna with a traditional wood-burning sauna stove, and water is drawn from the lake with a submersible pump. The sauna has a small dressing room. Both the cabin and the sauna building have a porch where you can sit and enjoy nature. The large lawned yard is perfect for summer activities like Frisbee golf, yard chess, Mölkky (Finnish throwing game), darts, and yard Yahtzee. There is a 5m jetty on the beach where you can swim directly. Otherwise, the beach is quite rocky and relatively shallow. The environment is peaceful, with the nearest neighbor about 300 meters away behind the forest. The yard area is spacious, and in front of the cabin is a large, partially covered terrace with great views of the lake. The terrace is equipped with outdoor furniture, an outdoor shower, and a hot tub. Next to the terrace is a campfire site. Behind the cabin is a traditional Finnish hut with a fireplace and space to sit and enjoy the evening by the firelight. The cabin is located 60 km to the northeast of Lahti, on the shore of Lake Lyömiäisjärvi. The shore is shallow with a gravel bottom. At the shore, you will find a private pier with benches and a rowing boat. You also have access to fish traps, fishing rods, and fishing nets.

The spacious, open, and mostly lawned yard area enjoys sunlight throughout the day. The cabin has a hot tub that the renter fills with lake water, heats the water, and ensures thorough cleaning at the end of the stay. There is an electric car charging point at the cabin, which can be rented for an additional fee. Pets are welcome at Rihun Riihi. Repovesi National Park 65 km, Heinola 24 km, Lahti 60 km, Kouvola 57 km.
