Booking Fee 22 €Spacious log cabin at Ruuhijärvi, approximately 10 km from the city of Kajaani and a half-hour drive from Vuokatti. Renovated in 2012.
Combined kitchen/living room with an electric stove, a wood stove, and a baking oven. There are 2 bedrooms: Bedroom 1 has a double bed and an additional bed, and Bedroom 2 has two beds. There is also a utility room equipped with an iron and ironing board. Please note that the indoor sauna is not in use, but there is a shower. The cabin has running water from a spring. The basement serves as a cool storage area.
There is a lakeside sauna with a sauna room, which can accommodate two people during the summer months.
In summer 2026, the sleeping facilities in the sauna room will not be available.
There is a doghouse and a kennel outside; pets are not allowed indoors.
A rowing boat is available, along with a gently sloping sandy beach, a pier, and a fire pit by the water.
In winter, there are good outdoor activities available, and a ski track can be set up on the ice.
Distances: Kajaani is 9 km away, offering Kaukaveden swimming hall, theater, museums, and other services.
Kajaani Golf is 15 km away, Katinkulta spa is 30 km away, and the Vuokatti winter sports center is also 30 km away. The Ruuhijärvi recreational fishing area is 3.5 km away. Ruuhijärvi is accessible year-round.
Ruuhijärvi is a peaceful, nearly wilderness-like small lake with only one house along its shores, in addition to Koivuranta.
Within walking distance is the Iso-Ruuhijärvi recreational fishing area maintained by the city of Kajaani, which offers various services (www.ruuhijarvi.fi); it is about 1 km via a path and approximately 3.5 km by car.
It is also open in winter and is a popular ice fishing spot.
Small game hunting areas: 5614 Kajaani and 5613 Sotkamo (www.eraluvat.fi).
Note: From January to April, reservations must be made at least one week before the arrival date, with a minimum rental period of 2 nights.
You can drive to the cabin. Bed linen and final cleaning can be arranged with the owner for an additional fee. A security deposit of €150 is required upon arrival.
