Welcome to experience an authentic Finnish lakeside cabin, located about 22 km south of Kemijärvi. Set on the peaceful and fish-rich Lake Hirvasjärvi, this cabin offers pure natural surroundings, tranquility, and a genuine escape from everyday life.
Originally built in 1975 and extended in 2015, the cabin now features an updated kitchen equipped with a gas stove (no oven) and all essential cooking utensils. With 43 m² of living space, the heart of the cabin is the open living room with a sofa bed (140 cm wide) and a cozy sleeping alcove with a comfortable 160 cm wide double bed. Electricity is provided by solar panels, powering the cabin’s lighting and for charging small devices via an inverter.
There is no running water in the cabin, giving you a taste of real Finnish cabin life. Guests are required to bring their own drinking water. Washing and utility water are carried from the lake.
The outdoor toilet is located in a separate building in the yard.
Outdoor areas are designed for relaxation and convenience: a summer kitchen with a gas grill and a small gas fridge, a covered dining area, and a fenced yard for pets — dogs are warmly welcome (pet fee per pet).
At the beach, guests have access to a rowing boat and a sturdy pier, providing easy access to the water for swimming. The beach has a sand and gravel bottom and deepens quickly. Please note: there are large rocks near the pier, so jumping and diving from the pier are strictly prohibited.
And of course, the highlight of any Finnish cabin holiday — a wood-heated sauna, just 10 meters from the water. Relaxing in the sauna and cooling off in the lake will make everyday stress fade away.
This is a holiday combining peace, nature, and an authentic Finnish lakeside atmosphere — the perfect choice for those who value simplicity and closeness to nature.
Please bring your own bed linen.
A road leads directly to the cabin, but during spring thaw conditions, it may be challenging to access with a low-clearance vehicle, so caution is advised. There is no car heating outlet available.
The summer kitchen has a small gas fridge, so guests may wish to bring a cooler for extra storage.
A state-owned small game hunting area managed by Metsähallitus (State Forests) is located just 1 km from the cabin.
