185 km north of Rovaniemi, 33 km north of Kittilä, Lake Rautusjärvi 20 m (length of the lake is 2,5 km and width 0,8 km), a pier, rather shallow beach, soft bottom, own rowing boat. Restored modest, old Lappish house (built in the early 20th century!). Big living room, 1 bedroom and a vestibule. Bedroom with 2 single beds. In the living room 2 old metallic beds with mattress (please, remember to bring your own blankets and pillows to these metallic beds). Unlike the photos, metallic beds are in the living room and in the bedroom there are 2 normal single beds. Separate newish sauna building with sauna room and living room-dressing room with a loft (2 mattresses) and a terrace. There are sofa and heater in the sauna building's living room. Water to sauna by hand pump. Water tank in sauna stove to heat water. Natural state yard area, campfire site and lean-to on the beach. No fridgerator or cellar.

WILDERNESS CABIN: Facilities in wilderness cabins are often more modest than in holiday cottages. Cabin is not preheated before customer’s arrival. Please, remember to bring your own blankets, pillows, bed linen and towels (can not be rented). This cabin requires outdoor attitude and skills (how to make fire, for example). If you’re not sure, please consider another option. Piekkarinniemi is an old habitation where ancient pines create an unique atmosphere. Wilderness cabin is suitable for groups interested of hiking, fishing or hunting. There are two heaters in the main cabin: one in the living room (with oven) and another in the bedroom. There is also a heater in sauna building. Lighting with rechargeable led lamp and candles. Double flame LPG cooker. Fishing license areas: 2535 Kapsajoki and 2410 Länsi-Lappi (www.eraluvat.fi). Good fishing areas, River Kapsajoki and river Lismajoki are nearby. Hunting: State owned land's hunting areas in few kilometers distance, area 2611 Pokka-Pulju (www.eraluvat.fi). Aluminum canoe, boat trailer, SUP board and jumbo canoe can be rented from the owner. Wilderness tours and fishing excursions from the local company, more information available from the cabin owner. Catering services available from Rautuskylä shop, Levin Ruokapalvelut Oy. Levi 23 km. This wilderness cabin is available yearly during May-October. In 2021 bookable also in February-April.
