Accommodation information
Former forester’s log cabin. Downstairs bedroom (4 bunk beds + 2 beds), room with bunk bed, kitchen and large living room, two bedrooms upstairs (one with 5 beds + one with 7 beds). Electric/wood heating + air source heat pump. Shower in toilet. Sauna in separate building. Cabin is pre-heated to 15-17 degrees and client adds heating on arrival. Cage for dogs, site for an open fire, cellar. Although cabin is not located near water, it is perfect for large family gatherings or for groups. Yard is not maintained during summer, grass will be mowed only once in late summer.

WILDERNESS CABIN: Facilities in wilderness cabins are often more modest than in holiday cottages. Cabin is not preheated before customer’s arrival (only the basic heat). Cabin should be cleaned by the customer during the holiday and after that. Due to long distances maintenance doesn’t check the cabin after all customers. If the cabin is not cleaned or there are deficiencies, please contact the caretaker immediately on arrival by calling. Please, remember to bring your own bed linen and towels (can not be rented). Water is not examined yearly so boiling the drinking water before use is recommended. In addition to fridgerator there is a cellar for cold storage. In addition to the toilet there is outdoor privy. Distances: Kuhmo 35 km, Kajaani 100 km, Vuokatti 55 km, Ontojoki village 20 km. Two nature trails from yard: 1.5 km and 3 km. Vantage point at top of hill Jauhovaara and down by pond shore lean-to and campfire site. Distance to pond Jauholampi 800 m, Lake Nurmesjärvi 2.5 km. Cabin can be reached by car. Reservation starts at 14.00.

Tilat olivat siistit ja hyvässä kunnossa. Vesijohdot toimivat ja lämpöä oli riittävästi, vaikka meneillään oli enimmillään -40 astetta hipova pakkasjakso. Varustelutaso keittiössä oli tuttuun tapaan riittävä ja hyväkuntoinen. Pihasaunassa kaikki toimi, kuten kuuluukin. Kiitokset!
