Pykälä – a unique milieu with wooden log houses. Available the year around in total of 248 m2 in three separate houses. 18 km from Kuhmo city amidst beautiful landscape of wilderness in Kainuu province. Honkapirtti (Old Pine Log Villa): A log villa with 128 m2 in two floors. A well-equipped kitchen with appliances, a stone oven, a dining table for 8 in the spacious living room, a cozy stone fireplace. Downstairs, a room with a desk and a sofa bed for 1-2 guests. Upstairs, a separate bedroom with a double bed, from which access to a small balcony with a view over the field to the forest landscape. Beds for 2 guests in the loft lobby on the upper floor. Downstairs, separate toilet, washroom/shower, sauna (electric heater). Access to the back terrace from the laundry/shower room. Wooden benches on the front porch. In addition to wood heating, floor and ceiling heating. Kelogrilli (Wooden Barbeque House): A wonderful barbecue house where you can prepare tasty and versatile delicacies inside and protected from the weather. Equipment: Electric light, mini fridge, sink and refillable water mini-container. Seating and table space for dining on the porch outside. Smoker cabinet/pot for smoking meat/fish, flame grill boards and wok pan. You can stay overnight at Kelogrilli. Yard storage/Shed/Other: There are outdoor games (bubble, darts, pétanque, badminton). Possibility of heating the car with a heater for 3 cars. In addition, in the wall of the lower floor of the shed, there is a possibility of heating with a heater for 2 cars. An underground cellar, a greenhouse and a separate storage space on the side of the basement for e.g. skis, sticks and bikes. Garbage shed/waste bins located at the end of the litter building. Pets: Pets are welcome in all houses. In the courtyard there is an outdoor dog park of approx. 30 m² with a doghouse, outside the dog park there is a separate doghouse for 2 dogs. Outdoor toilet: An alternative for those who appreciate ecological nature values, next to Kelogrilli. Water supply/drinking water: Very good quality spring water throughout Pykälä.

In Kuhmo to visit e.g. Winter War museum, Tuupala´s house museum, Juminkeko cultural center, Wildlife Visitor Centre Petola. Pykälä enables activity and is also more than perfect venue for a peaceful, quiet and joyful stay in nature. Pykälä is suitable for families, meetings, groups and small family celebrations. If you organize a small-scale/peaceful celebration, please mention that in your booking. Pykälä is a true accommodation in the wilderness. Please note, the houses are maintained in around 10-15 °C, and when guests, the temperature is set in around to 20 °C. There is given a specific instruction about heating. Firewood is available in the shed, for your kind info, birch wood works best for grilling, aspen for heating the fireplace and wood oven giving cosy athmosphere. The information how to drive to Pykälä will be also given. Check in at 16h, and check out at 12h. Please note, if the cleaning has not been made by the guest, the guest will be invoiced. One can separately order before the arrival the final cleaning service. Due to long distances, the maintenance can not check the houses after all customers. If not cleaned, or there are any deficiencies, please contact the caretaker immediately upon arrival.
