Wilderness log cabin Kuusinki 2 is built in 2014 and it is located by the lake Särkijärvi, in southern part of the “Kuusamo collective forest/Oulanka” hunting area. There are 3 bunk beds and sturdy table group in the spacious kitchen-living room. Kitchenette has a wood-burning stove and gas cooker with oven. Roomy sauna and dressing room in the same building (entrance from the terrace), big terrace which is mostly covered. Own rowing boat, a pier and life jackets. Client has to bring drinking and cooking water, water to sauna must be fetched from the lake. Root cellar, woodshed, trash shed - outdoor toilet -building and campfire site in the yard.

WILDERNESS CABIN: Facilities in wilderness cabins are often more modest than in holiday cottages. Cabin is not preheated before customer’s arrival. Cabin should be cleaned by the customer during the holiday and after that. Due to long distances maintenance doesn’t check the cabin after all customers. If the cabin is not cleaned or there are deficiencies, please contact the caretaker immediately on arrival by calling. Please, remember to bring your own bed linen and towels (can not be rented). This cabin requires outdoor attitude and skills (how to make fire, for example). If you’re not sure, please consider another option. Water is not examined yearly so boiling the drinking water before use is recommended. Oulanka National Park, Juuma, Pieni Karhunkierros -hiking trail 30 km, Ruka resort 35 km, River Kitkajoki 8 km, Kuusamo centre 55 km. River Kuusinki fishing rapids: Vihtamutka 500 m, Sipinkoski 900 m, Hevonperse 1 km. The cabin is surrounded by 5200 hectares of hunting areas. Resident of the cabin can buy small game hunting license from web-site www.varuste.net or from the office of Kuusamon Yhteismetsä. Fishing rapids of river Kuusinkijoki are within walking distance and river Kitkajoki is about 8 km from the cabin. Lake Särkijärvi has whitefish, perch and pike in it, sometimes also trout. Cabin rental includes licenses for five fishing nets for Lake Särkijärvi. Client has to bring own fishing nets (no limitation for mesh size). Clear water pond Takalampi is located less than 1 km away from the cabin. There is a lean-to and campfire site by the Takalampi pond. It is desirable not to bring hunting dogs into the cabin. The cabin can be reached by car during the summer, but not in winter/autumn after snowing. There has been road renovations going on at the area during 2016. The roads are covered by crushed rock and requires slow driving speed. Driving is permitted at your own risk. There is no ice drill in the cabin.

  Peruspuitteet kunnossa. Saunassa oli hyvät löylyt. Erämökin tunnelmaa toi hiljainen ympäristö. Maakellari oli hyvä lisä niin sai eväät säilymään ja vaikka oltiin hyvinkin syrjässä niin puhelimet pelasi hyvin.
