75 km to the northeast from Kuopio, lake Valkeinen (length 500 m, width 500 m) 20 m, shallow sandy bottom, water depth at the end of the pier is about one meter, rowing boat.

Distance to the Tahko ski centre is 22 km, to the western slopes of Tahko 14 km (nearest ski lift). There are spa, restaurants, equipment rental and golf course in Tahko area. 6 km to Varpaisjärvi where is the nearest grocery store, a restaurant, and a lighted ski trail.
