230 km to the north from Tornio, 35 km to the south from Muonio municipality center, river Muonionjoki/Kotasuvanto 50 m (width of the river 150 m, Sweden on the opposite shore), located on the river bank, hard bottom, flowing water, water level varies, own boat (length 5 m), no outboard motor. Boat ramp in the river 700 m. Planed log cabin, built in 2002. 2 beds in living area ( (unlike the photos, there are no more metal beds), one bed in alcove (width 120 cm) and upper bed, kitchenette and covered terrace. Separate sauna with steam room and small terrace. Sauna is equipped with wood-burning sauna stove and water tank connected to the sauna stove. The tank is used for water heating. Water to the sauna must be brought by using a bucket from the river. Please, notice that there isn´t drinking water source at the cabin so you need to bring it yourself.

There is no water pipe to the cabin (despite the kitchen tap shown in the pictures). Waste water from the sinks are led to a container located in the cupboard. Customers must empty the container. There is a generator in the cabin. The generator provides electricity for the lights and for charging a mobile phone, for example. There is a small under-floor cellar under the living area. Lohisuvanto is ideal for fishermen. River Tornion-Muonionjoki flowing next to the cabin is the longest salmon river in Europe. Other fish species are grayling and trout. The joint permit area of Tornio-Muonionjoki-Könkämäeno is popular among fishermen. The traditional fishing method on the river is salmon rowing, but there are also good fishing spots on the beach. There are services like café, grocery, fishing permit sales, boat/outboard, and fishing gear rental. The small game hunting area on state owned lands is situated on a close distance, see destination 2602 Muonio (www.eraluvat.fi). Grocery shops and fuel sales in Muonio 35 km. Border crossing point to Sweden 33 km (Muonio). Car parking 30 m.

  Mökki oli oikein mukava pieni erämökki ja sijainti erinomainen. Pienillä asioilla saatiin kuitenkin harmia aikaiseksi: Keittiössä olevan 'Porin Matin' lämmityskaminan sytyttäminen oli mahdotonta koska hormi ei vedä... on täynnä lasivillaa???
