Final Cleaning 99 €The Kuusiranta wilderness cabin is located in a sunny spot on the shore of the vast Paltaselkä. Beautiful lake scenery in a peaceful location.
50 km north of Kajaani, 13 km west of downtown Paltamo, 15 m from Lake Oulujärvi (Paltaselkä), a fairly shallow beach with small stones on the bottom, a dock, and a private rowboat. The boat and dock are available from the beginning of June through the end of September.
A small log cabin, built in 1995. The living room has a pull-out sofa bed (provides extra beds for two), a kitchen (no door), a built-in bed (120 cm wide) in the alcove, and a covered porch. The cabin’s kitchen has a sink and a drain. Two wood-burning stoves, one in the living room and the other in the kitchen. The cabin has solar panels that provide power for lighting, the TV, and an electrical outlet, among other things. Versatile cooking options: gas stove, gas grill, smoker,a barrel for smoking, a shelter with a fire pit equipped with a grate next to it; a cast-iron pot is also available.
Separate sauna with a steam room, changing area, and porch. The dock has a hand pump that can be used to pump water directly into the water barrels on the sauna terrace. The wood-fired stove has a water tank for heating water.
Composting toilet.
The cabin has solar-powered Wi-Fi.
The cabin is equipped with a security camera and a weather camera. The security camera monitors the parking area, and the weather camera faces the lake (beachgoers do not appear in the footage, as the camera is aimed at the open water far from the shore).
WILDERNESS CABIN: Facilities in wilderness cabins are often more modest than in holiday cottages. Please, remember to bring your own bed linen and towels (can not be rented). The cabin is not preheated before the reservation begins. Cabin should be cleaned by the customer during the holiday and after that. Final cleaning available for an additional fee. However, please note that the reservation must be made no later than 2 weeks before the start of the holiday.
Maintenance does not inspect the cabin after every guest. If the cabin is not clean on arrival or there are deficiencies, please contact the owner immediately by calling.
Fishing: Fishing in lake Oulujärvi is permitted with fisheries management fee. One fishing rod can be used. More information see www.eraluvat.fi. Fish species in the lake: pike, perch, pike perch and whitefish.
With Finnish Forest Administration’s (Metsähallitus) angling permit for Northern Ostrobothnia and Kainuu you can fish using fly or lure in the state owned water areas in Northern Ostrobothnia and Kainuu. The permit area contains approximately 80 000 hectares of lake and pond waters and over 600 kilometers of river and stream waters (destination id 5411 www.eraluvat.fi).
Hunting: small game hunting area on state owned lands, Paltamo 5601 (www.eraluvat.fi).
