Wilderness-style cabin with stunning fell views amidst the rugged and beautiful nature of Eastern Lapland. The services of the Pyhätunturi area are just a 10-minute drive away. The cabin is an excellent base for hikers, berry pickers, hunters, and travelers who consider a modest, non-electrified cabin to be an adventure in itself.
Round log cabin (25 m²), built in 1989, includes a living room/kitchen, dressing room, sauna, and terrace. For heating, there is an open fireplace and a stove.
Sleeping arrangements: a sofa bed in the living room for two (140x200 cm) and a sofa bed in the dressing room for one (120x200 cm).
The cabin has solar panel electricity for lighting and charging mobile phones (12 V). For cooking, there is a LPG Gas Stove. For food storage, there is a 60 L propane-powered refrigerator, but no freezer.
The cabin has a well that provides both drinking and washing water. The well water was tested in July 2023 and found to be drinkable. As the well water is not tested annually, we recommend boiling the drinking water as a precaution.
The sauna has a wood-heated sauna stove with a hot water tank (capacity 20 L). Additionally, there is a gas grill on the terrace. There is also a water pot in the yard for heating water, in addition to the sauna's hot water tank.
The cabin is available for rent annually from 01.06.-15.10. in between.
The cabin is rustic and best suited as a base for fishing, hiking, or hunting trips. Generally, the equipment and standard of wilderness cabins are more modest than other holiday cabins. The cabin is not preheated before the reservation starts. The customer is responsible for cleaning the cabin during and after the stay. Customers must bring their own bed linen and towels (not available for rent).
The hiking trails of Pyhä-Luosto National Park are 6.5 km away. These trails lead to, among other places, Finland's deepest gorge, Isokuru, with the breathtaking Pyhäkaste Waterfall. The hiking trails also provide access to the highest fell in Pyhä-Luosto, Noitatunturi, which stands at 540 m. Some of the hiking trails also function as mountain biking routes, and there are several companies in Pyhä that rent mountain and fat bikes.
About 10 km towards Luosto is the Lampivaara Amethyst Mine, a fascinating attraction where visitors can dig for their own lucky amethyst as a souvenir and finish with a coffee and doughnut at the Lampivaara Café.
