Haarainiemi's ecological wilderness cabin from the times (1950s) when log driving was primarily used method to transporting wood to the mills in Finland. The cabin is located by river Livojoki. Livojoki is known as a recreational fishing area as well. Wood-built cabin, built in 1950. There are three bunk beds in the living room, bunk bed (lower part is 140 cm wide) in the bedroom. There are wood stoves in the living room and the bedroom. The sink in the living area has a sink with pipe to the container in the cupboard (no drain out). Sauna on the edge of the rapids 40 m, on the way a steep river bank. The sauna has steam room and terrace. Water to the sauna comes from the river by carrying. Cauldron for water heating. Underground cellar in the river bank, 50 m distance. Spring, 50 m away. Water is not examined yearly, so boiling the drinking water before use is recommended. Campfire site on the beach, Indian-style canoe available. NOTE! Importation of dogs is permitted, importation of cats is prohibited!

WILDERNESS CABIN: Wilderness cabins are suitable for fishing, trekking and hunting trips. Facilities in wilderness cabins are often more modest than in holiday cabins. The cabin is not preheated before customer’s arrival. The cabin should be cleaned by the customer during the holiday and after that. Due to the long distance, maintenance doesn’t check the cabin after all customers. If the cabin is not cleaned or there are deficiencies, please contact the caretaker immediately on arrival by calling. The guest must bring their own bed linen and towels (not available for rent). Haarainiemi wilderness cabin is suitable for hunters, fly fishermen and berry pickers. Surrounding environment have good game and berry lands (lingonberry, cloudberry). River Livojoki has natural whitefish and grayling population. In addition, trout are planted in the river to support the natural population. On both sides of the cabin, there is a section of rapids in the river suitable for fly fishing. Small game hunting areas: 2620 Posio or beyond the river Kouva 5623 (www.eraluvat.fi). The cabin is available for rent from the beginning of June to the end of October. The cabin can be accessed by car. Shop and fuel sales in Rytinki 32 km or in Posio 43 km. Places to visit: Pentik, Ranua Zoo, Korouoma canyon, Riisitunturi, Iso-Syöte and Oulanka national parks, rapid Auttiköngäs and Ruka ski resort.
