95 km northwest of Kuusamo (Posio 35 km), Lake Saari-Kiekki 40 m (lake length of 1.2 km, width 500 m), rather deep beach, stone and mud bottom, pier, own boat. Sandy bottom 30 m from the pier. Small and modest, genuine wilderness cabin made of old logs, built in 1989. The cabin has one room and a traditional bunk for sleeping. Cabin has a gas stove and wood-burning stove. Drinking water has to be brought along. Lake side sauna 10 m, with wood-burning stove and water tank, and a small dressing area. Water to sauna is taken from the lake, 20 m. There is a wilderness type lean-to and a camp fire place in the yard.

WILDERNESS CABIN: Facilities in wilderness cabins are often more modest than in holiday cottages. Cabin is not preheated before customer’s arrival. This cabin requires outdoor attitude and skills (how to make fire, for example). If you’re not sure, please consider another option. The cabin has mattresses, blankets and pillows, but no linen (sheets and towels). Sleeping bag may be used. Linen rental is not available. Client needs to clean the cabin carefully on the day of departure. Pökkelö is located in a very quiet location in Posion Kiekkikaira rugged wilderness. There are whitefish, perch and pike in the lake. Cabin price includes fishnet and lure fishing licenses for the lake. Cloudberry bogs start right near the hut. Behind the lake there is Mustarinnantunturi State Nature Reserve, which is part of a large Kiekkikaira distric (no marked trails). The nearest state hunting areas begin a half kilometre from the cabin. Hunting Area: Posio 2620. Korouoma Nature Reserve and fracture valley 40 km, Riisitunturi National Park 60 km, Pentik-mäki Culture Centre 37 km.

Kauan hain tilaisuutta tutustua Pökkelöön, odotukset olivat suuret. Pökkelö ylitti ne kaikki. Rikkumaton rauha ja hiljaisuus todella erämaisen, kauniin luonnon keskellä.
