150 km to the northeast from Kemijärvi, 60 km to the northeast from Savukoski municipality center, river Värriöjoki 20 m (width 45 m), shallow natural beach, small rocks on the bottom, canoe, no boat. Remote and very quiet location, 33 km drive along the forest road, car must have at least a moderate ground clearance. Log cabin, built in 2002. Large bed in the living area, 4 sleeping sites on the lower level and two sleeping sites on the upper level. Wood stove and metallic light fireplace. There is a solar panel based electricity in the cabin; lighting and mobile phone charging (12 V). Covered terrace, ground cellar on the riverbank. A separate sauna with a fireplace room and a steam room. The sauna was built in 2022. In the fireplace room there is a bed (width 120 cm) and an upper bed (width 90 cm). In the sauna, a wood-burning stove with a 30 l warm water tank. Water for the sauna is fetched from the river. Drinking water from the spring 20 m. Fixed grill and dining set in the yard.

WILDERNESS CABIN: Wilderness cabins are suitable for fishing, trekking and hunting trips. Facilities in the wilderness cabins are often more modest than in the holiday cottages. The cabin is not preheated before customer’s arrival. Cabin should be cleaned by the customer during the holiday and after that. Due to the long distances, maintenance doesn’t check the cabin after all customers. If the cabin is not cleaned or there are deficiencies, please contact the caretaker immediately on arrival by calling. The guest must bring their own bed linen and towels (not available for rent). Water is not examined yearly, so boiling the drinking water before the use is recommended. Koivu-Ulku is located in scenic location by the wilderness river in its own privacy. It is an excellent base for fishing, hunting and nature excursions. Fishing: see 3410 Angling permit of Eastern Lapland (www.eraluvat.fi). Fishing in lakes and ponds is usually permitted with fisheries management fee. One fishing rod can be used. For more information, see (www.eraluvat.fi). Hunting: Small game hunting area on the state owned lands 3610 Kemi-Kuro begins near the cabin. Destination 3608 begins on the opposite side of the river (www.eraluvat.fi). There is also a possibility for hunting on the owner’s property, where the cabin is located. Total area of the parcel is 19.4 ha. Shop, restaurant and fuel sales in Savukoski municipality center 60 km.

  Siisti paikka kaikin puolin. Tie ei ainakaan meidän aikaan ollut niin huonossa kunnossa kun voisi ymmärtää. Netti ei mökillä toimi, mutta 100m päässä mökistä toimii. Varaavaa takkaa tai muuta lämpöä pitävää lämmitystä ei ole, niinkuin kuvasta näkyy.
