Welcome to this traditional farmhouse set in the peaceful countryside of Simo! Farm House was built in 1937 and extended in 1977, offering a genuine countryside atmosphere and a relaxed holiday stay.
The house has a spacious combined kitchen/living room, two bedrooms and a cosy kitchen equipped with everything needed for holiday cooking. There is a fold-out sofa bed for one person in the kitchen/living room. One bedroom has a double bed and a children’s travel cot, while the other bedroom has two single beds (Widths: 80 cm and 120 cm). A wood-fired stove and a traditional baking oven add to the authentic farmhouse atmosphere.
During winter, the owner heats the house for guests in advance and will show you how to use the fireplace and heat the sauna.
The bathroom facilities include a separate toilet and a washroom with two showers. There is a wood-heated sauna where you can relax at the end of the day. The house is heated with electricity and wood.
The yard also has a storage building, an outbuilding and a barn, all adding to the traditional farmhouse setting. During winter, the Northern Lights can sometimes be seen from the yard.
There is also a small summer cottage on the property, which is used only during summer and is not available for additional accommodation; its fireplace is not in use.
Please note: The house has running water, but it is not drinking water. The owner provides drinking water for guests.
The property is child-friendly, with a high chair, travel cot, changing table, a wide selection of toys and books, and a sledge for winter use.
Farm House is ideal for travellers who appreciate the atmosphere of an old country house, simple comfort and peaceful rural surroundings.
The owners live next door, 1 km away, and offer a pick-up and drop-off service to and from the bus stops in Kemi and Simo and the Kemi railway station, for an additional fee, at the start and end of your stay. (Please contact the owners directly if you wish to use this service.)
The owners' neighbours run a company offering trail riding.
Breakfast and evening snack service can also be ordered from the owners for an additional fee.
The centre of Simo offers grocery stores and other basic services, making it easy to take care of everyday shopping during your stay.
The area offers excellent opportunities for outdoor activities and fishing. A well-known fishing spot nearby is the Simojoki River, which attracts especially those who enjoy river fishing. Spinning and fly fishing are both popular on the river. For those interested in fishing, the area offers a great chance to enjoy northern nature and spend time by the water.
Hiking and enjoying the peace of nature are also perfect additions to your holiday. Farm House provides a peaceful base for your stay and for exploring the natural attractions of the surrounding area.
