The apartment has an area of 46 m². It features a bright combined kitchen/living room with a dining set for four. There is a separate bedroom with two 80 cm beds (arranged as a double bed). The bathroom includes a toilet and an electric sauna, and there is a small front porch. An additional sleeping place is available from the sofa or alternatively from a cube that opens into an 80 cm x 200 cm (10 cm thick mattress), suitable mainly for a child.
Guests have access to a lockable cold outdoor storage and one parking space with a heating outlet.
The apartment is recommended for couples or small families seeking a peaceful holiday. Please note that other apartments in the building are permanently occupied.
Located in the lively village of Sotkamo next to Vuokatti, this cozy holiday base offers the option of a relaxing 'city break' or an active sports holiday. The property is also suitable for long-term rental; inquire for a quote!
The illuminated and guided sports facilities are just a couple of minutes' walk away. The outdoor trails run through varied forested ridge landscapes. In winter, there is a well-maintained illuminated ski trail (5 km) and a wider network of ski trails on the ice of Sotkamo's lakes. Note: during the ski season, there is a connecting trail from Sotkamo to Vuokatti.
Vuokatti's diverse tourism services are about a 10-minute drive away (6.5 km), Holiday Club Katinkulta Spa/Golf is 8 km away, and Vuokatti Activity Park is 6 km away. The bus stop is 200 m away, with services including the Vuokatti ski bus and transport to places like the Naapurinvaara dance hall. Shopping places and the market are within approximately 150 m. Sotkamo's baseball stadium is about 150 m away.
There is a neighborhood in front of the house (which may cause occasional noise disturbance), but the backyard borders a ridge forest, and the living room and kitchen windows face a sheltered slope/woodland, where you can observe the life of squirrels. The living room and bedroom have blinds and curtains that protect from the sun.
The holiday apartment is available from 4 PM on the day of arrival until 12 PM on the day of departure, including weekend bookings.
Cleaning and bed linens can be booked in advance for an additional fee. Pets are allowed for an additional fee (max. 2 pets per booking).
For summer guests, the Hiukka beach maintained by the municipality of Sotkamo is available (200 m away), suitable for the whole family: the shore is shallow, the bottom is fine sand, and the shoreline stretches for hundreds of meters. The beach has a slide and swings for children, the swimming area is marked with buoys, and during the season, a lifeguard is present. In the summer season, there is a grill kiosk/summer café, and in the same building, beachgoers have access to changing rooms, toilets, and shower facilities.
