Booking Fee 22 €A rustic log cabin located 13 km from Sotkamo along Kuhmontie, set amidst excellent berry and mushroom picking grounds on a natural plot.
The cabin was built in the 1980s and features a combined kitchen/living room with a baking oven, though the main source of heating is a heat pump (also suitable for cooling). The living area includes a dining set for four and a bed for one. There is a separate bedroom with an 80 cm bed and a bunk bed (suitable for children, not adults). The bedroom also has an open fireplace.
Access to the cabin's sauna is via the outdoor porch, which also houses a dry toilet, a handwashing basin with running water, a shower cubicle, and a wood-heated sauna. A washing machine is available in the washing area.
Next to the cabin is a small woodshed, but firewood is stored under the cabin. Please check the firewood supply with the cabin owner (mainly for heating the sauna) and be prepared to bring your own sauna wood. The yard also includes a smoke oven for meat and fish, as well as a separate outdoor toilet.
The area around the cabin offers excellent opportunities for berry and mushroom picking.
The nearest neighbor is approximately 50 meters away, with a view of the neighbor from the side of the cabin (not from the front yard).
The cabin is available from 4 PM on your arrival day until 12 PM on your departure day, including weekend bookings.
Pets are allowed.
Please note that additional services such as cleaning or linens are not available at this property. Guests are responsible for cleaning the cabin themselves and must bring their own linens (sheets and towels).
WILDERNESS CABIN: The equipment and standard of wilderness cabins are often more modest compared to other holiday cabins.
The owner will welcome guests and provide guidance on-site.
