150 km northeast of Kajaani, 75 km southeast of Suomussalmi, the cottage is located close to the Russian border (1.5 km) in Kuivajärvi, Finland's only inhabited Viena Karelian village. Small Kuivajärvi 20 m (lake length 1 km, width 0.5 km), connection to Kuivajärvi (length 2.3 km, width 1 km), shallow beach, rocky bottom, pier, rowing boat. Large, hand-carved log cabin, built in 1964, renovated in 2015, large living room, kitchen, 5 bedrooms, 2-3 beds in each room (rooms updated in 2023, new beds and bedding), sauna (electric stove), washroom with whirlpool bath and 2 showers , dressing room and lounge, meeting and exhibition space. Three of the bedrooms are upstairs, the sauna facilities are in the basement. The kitchen is equipped with large kitchen appliances, cheerful hot and cold serving tables for serving food. Beach sauna 40 m, steam room (wood stove), fireplace and covered porch. The sauna has a water supply (shower in the sauna), electric heating and electric light. Own boat launch and fire pit on the beach. Pirti's equipment also includes TV / DNA Hub, and wireless internet (Wi-Fi, 150Mt). Karaoke equipment, pool table, poker table, air hockey game and Air heat pump (cooling in summer). In the yard, a hot tub (the customer fills and heats it himself, additional fee for the hot tub is €200/booking period) and a fish cleaning table.

Historically valuable Domnan Pirtti offers a fine setting for wilderness- and nature activities, hunting- and fishing trips and also for meetings, recreational days and family celebrations. Catering- and programme services available for advance booking. There is room even for 50 persons (however 10 persons is maximum for overnight guests). Domnan Pirtti is also suitable for peaceful vacations in beautiful Viena Karelian village. Nearby there are for example Orthodox chapel of St. Nicholas (church, 150 m), Kuivajärvi outdoor dance hall (200m) and Hietajärvi heritage house (3,5 km). Cottage is surrounded by state-owned lands, Kalevala park's Nature Reserves of Murhisalo includes also valuable landscape areas of Kuivajärvi and Hietajärvi area. UKK Itäraja summer hiking trail reaches also Kuivajärvi area. Hiking trails and nature paths in the area are suitable for day trips to multi-day hikes. Fishing: Small lakes, rapids and streams in the queue, fishing license area 5505 Yli-Vuokki (www.eraluvat.fi). Hunting: State owned lands small game hunting area 5604 East-Suomussalmi (www.eraluvat.fi). Vartius border crossing (Russia) 17 km, Kostamus (in Russia) 55 km, Winter War Museum Raatteen Portti and Raate road 40 km. Suomussalmi 75 km (for example Spa Kiannon Kuohut), Kajaani 150 km. Please leave the cabin to the condition, as you would be the next customer. Due to long distances maintenance can not check the cabin after all customers.
