Wilderness-style cabin by the river Tana in Lohikoste area, ideal for fishermen, willow grouse hunters, and people loving to spend a holiday in the fell environment. 39 km to the southwest from Utsjoki, 61 km to the northeast from Karigasniemi, located in the middle of the awesome landscapes by the river Tana, near of fell Ailigastunturi. Wooden cabin, built in 1977, expanded in 1991. Bunk bed in the living room, kitchenette, double bed and bunk bed in the bedroom, sauna in the same building. The sauna is equipped with wood-burning sauna stove and tank for water heating connected to the sauna stove. Summer water pipe from the fell stream to the kitchenette and sauna. There is a drain in the kitchenette. Outdoor toilet.

The summer water supply comes from the fell stream and is only operational during the summer when the temperature is above zero. Water is not tested every year, so we recommend that you boil your water before drinking it. Playground for children in the yard. Combustion assist available. The best fishing spots of the river Tana are easily reachable. For example, the famous Yläköngäs fishing area is within 14 km distance. River Tana have own specific fishing rules (see Tenoinfo brochure published by the Lapland ELY Centre, www.ely-keskus.fi). Fishing permits to the Tana river can be bought from the Tana fishing permits online store, see www.tenonkalaluvat.fi. You can also buy the permits from the companies located in the area. If you need a boat, rower or outboard engine, please agree with the maintainer. NOTE! In summer 2023, salmon fishing is prohibited on river Tana. However, permits for catching other fish species (e.g. grayling and sea trout) are available. Hunting: small game hunting area on the state-owned lands begins less than a half kilometer from the cabin (see destination 1602 Paistunturi, www.eraluvat.fi). Shops, restaurant and fuel sales in Karigasniemi 61 km or in Utsjoki 39 km. There are also border crossing points to Norway in these towns. Karigasniemi – Utsjoki, the most beautiful scenic road in Finland, is located at a distance of 300 meters. The cabin can be accessed by car.

  Täydellinen, rauhallinen mökki vajaan viikon majoitukseen kahdelle hengelle. Kaikki toimi kuten pitikin ja ympäristö oli upea! Mökiltä lyhyt matka Nuvvus-Ailigas -tunturille.

  Mökki ja paikka olivat juuri sitä, mitä luvattiin. Rauha ja luonto; vesistöt ja tunturit siinä vieressä. Varustus oli riittoisa, vaikka meille se ei ollut se ensimmäinen kriteeri. Hyvin oli tilaa neljälle ja koiralle.
