Käpälämäki offers an excellent opportunity to enjoy the beautiful nature and tranquility of a large lake. This planed log cabin with insulated walls, built in 2000, is well-maintained, and cozy. Inner walls of the cabin are paneled. Situated on the shore of Lake Iso-Vietonen, 40 km from Pello and 70 km from Rovaniemi. The beach has a sand bottom, making it child-friendly. The cabin rental price includes a rowing boat, and there's an option to rent a 4hp, 2-stroke outboard motor from the owner (the customers bring their own fuel). The living room/kitchen has a sofa bed, providing a comfortable living area. There's a double bed in one bedroom, and in another, there's a pull-out bed and a separate bed, accommodating several guests. The bathroom has a shower and a WC. The main building doesn't include a sauna, but there's a traditional Finnish sauna by the lake with a steam room and living area. The sauna has a wood-burning sauna stove and a cauldron heated by wood. Water for the sauna is fetched from the lake (or the main cabin). In addition, there's a cooking hut by the shore to prepare delicious meals.

Käpälämäki is especially suitable for families, fishing enthusiasts, and anyone looking to experience genuine Finnish cabin culture. Also, the tourism services in Rovaniemi and Pello are reasonably accessible. Pets are welcome at this vacation spot (additional fee per reservation). Iso-Vietonen is known as a good fishing lake with species like pike-perch, trout, perch, pike and whitefish. The nearest boat launch spot to the lake is Vietosenhieta, around 20 km by road from the cabin (6 km by water). Less than a kilometer from the cabin is the protected Himotussaari island, featuring a kota (Finnish wilderness hut) managed by Metsähallitus. The island is an excellent destination for excursions in summer and winter. There's also a snowmobile route passing through Vietonen to reach the island. The owner's hut in Palovaara, 3 km away, is also available for customers as an excursion spot. Pello and the border crossing to Sweden 40 km. Tornionjoki fishing area 40 km. Rovaniemi's services 70 km.

  Erittäin hyvin talviasukkaita (ml. lapset) varten varusteltu mökki. Puusauna todella hyvä samoin kuin grillikota.

  Todella hieno mökki hyvällä sijainnilla. Kaikki tarvittava löytyy. Sauna mielyttävä, hyvillä löylyillä ja järvi aivan vieressä. Vene löytyy, savustusvälineitä jne. Hieno grillikota myös. Omistajat todella mukavia ja mökin pöydälle jätetty hyvä selkeä ohjeistus. Palaamme ensi syksynä mahdollisesti uudelleen.
