Maarianvaara Ski resort

Maarianvaara is located at the height of Joensuu, in about 450 km from Helsinki, in the municipality of Kaavin. The snowy landscape of Maarianvaara gives a northern vibe, the area is quite snowy and provides a possibility for a long skiing seson. The area has improved significantly over the past few years: besides the slopes, there is a restaurant, equipment rental and a caravan area with 100 electrified caravan spots and a service building with kitchens and saunas.
Maarianvaara has 8 different slopes, two anchor lifts and a pomp lift. In addition, ski slopes have been protected for beginners and childrens safety. The longest drop is 1050 m and the highest altitude difference is 140 m. For those, wishing to explore more, there are snowshoes avaliable for the most beautiful dune walks!
Next to the elevator station there is a café and food restaurant, offering small bites and a list of hamburgers and pizzas. A number of hot and cold beverages can be enjoyed at the restaurant. In addition, there is a barbecue grill and a shelter available for free use by the ski center.
